On May 17, our Executive Director had the privilege of attending an event at the Capitol where Governor Kate Brown signed two bills expanding the rights of children in foster care.
- One is a Sibling Bill of Rights, in order to ensure siblings in foster care are kept together whenever possible.
- The second makes it easier for those ages 16 to 20 to live independently.
She conducted the signing surrounded by current and former foster youth who are members of Oregon Foster Youth Connection (OFYC). OFYC was key in developing the two bills.
